Nashville Scene - New Franklin Paper and more Nashville media news

Nashville Scene - New Franklin Paper: "Odds and ends" portion, notes (from Dec. 2005):

"We like The City Paper, but the editorials get more embarrassing by the day. This week, CP opined about UT football Coach Phil Fulmer, saying he “needs to lead by example.” Among the paper’s suggestions toward that end: “He needs to drop about 50 pounds” because he “looks slovenly.”... We’re running out of space trying to keep up with the ship jumpers over at 1100 Broadway [the Tennessean]. Designer Vince Troia has fled to The City Paper, and business writer Keith Russell is hanging up his diversity source list to go back to school….

A blogger calling himself “newsjunkyman,” presumably a Tennessean writer, has been taking anonymous shots at the paper and its leadership and dispensing information about the newsroom diversity and planning efforts (http://nashvillejunk.blogspot.com/): “The editor of the paper is a complete rube....”

Hmmm. This City Paper guy, Vince -- his last name is literally "Troy" -- is that an omen?
