Military says flaming object not from recently collided satellites, FAA clueless

Something that looks like debris or a big falling meteorite is caught on video in Texas. It reminded me of the thing that fell from the sky when I lived in West Virginia. It turned out to be a meteor, while it looked like a flaming bus falling out of the sky. (I don't know why a bus is what it made me think of, and not simply a falling aircraft, but that's what I thought of. Perhaps it had a bus shape, overall.)

DALLAS -- Authorities said there's no connection between reports of a mysterious fireball over Texas and a recent collision of commercial satellites.

People reported seeing falling debris across the Texas sky early Sunday. A county sheriff's office launched a helicopter search after callers said they thought a plane had crashed. But the search turned up nothing.

The U.S. Strategic Command said the reported sightings are not connected to Tuesday's crash of U.S. and Russian satellites.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said, "We don't know what it was."

There'll no doubt be a follow up to that story from the mil and FAA. Luckily, whatever hit the ground from it didn't kill anyone.
